Employee and Family Assistance Plan

Toll-free 24 hour access to confidential counselling services to assist in resolution of personal problems or crisis. Eligibility is based on hours actually worked. 300 hours is required to start the plan and every month a minimum of 150 hours is deducted and the employee will be "in benefit". Coverage can be terminated if the employee has less than 150 hours accumulated in the Hourbank, but coverage can be continued for up to 6 months, under a self-pay option.

If the employee has health and dental coverage from their spouse's plan, the employee must still enrol in this plan. The employee can coordinate claims between the 2 plans for up to 100% reimbursement, or the employee's spouse could "opt out" of these benefits only. Life and disability benefits are only available from the employee's own employer.
